Poppy Memory Box die Card 1

Happy Thursday!  It's a great day here in KC.  We had rain last night and now the sun is shining though it's supposed to mostly cloudy.  It has really cooled down.  A little awhile ago I head to my local McDonald's and the temp gage in my truck said it was 58 degrees.

My sister-in-law recently request some sympathy cards from me.  She likes to have them on hand just in case.

I cut a piece of Bazzill black card stock using the Memory Box poppy die.  I then divided into three parts and glued it to some Coordinations bling card stock.  The blue designer paper is from Echo Park.  The sentiment is from Artistic Impressions.  I've used oval Nestabilities for the sentiment.

This another card layout that I can use for almost any occasion.  Be back tomorrow with another card.

Take care and God bless!

Exclusive Memory Box dies

Hi all!

A couple of weeks ago my friends and I were together on Wednesday at The Scrapbook Page when Cameron, the store owner, told us about a store, Simple Pleasure Stamps, in Colorado Springs, CO. had exclusive dies and stamps from Memory Box.  When he told us that the exclusive involved a hummingbird, we got on my lap top to see them and then we called the store and ordered several sets.  Lucky us, they were received the following Friday (yes 2 days later and first class mail...not priority).

So last week we started playing around with the stamps and dies.

For this card, both the hummingbird and columbine were stamped onto Cryogen White paper and colored with Copics.  The Columbine is actually layered into the negative image on a piece of black card stock.

The purple card stock is from Coordinations.  Monthly JoAnn's has this 12 x 12 paper on sale for 5 for $1.00.  I just love bargain card stock and it's very good card stock that comes in many solid colors.  I especially those pieces that have some "bling" to them.

The sentiment is from Sweet & Sassy stamps.

Take care.  I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  God Bless!

10th Anniversary card

A few weeks ago I received a request for a custom card for a lady's daughter who was going to be celebrating their 10th anniversary in June.  Immediately I thought about the Loving Bridal couple from Magnolia stamps.  I had originally planned to used the Magnolia castle, but then I found out that the couple was renewing their vows on the beach.  So this card began to take shape in my mind.

Last Friday, is when I completed the coloring and putting 99.9% of the card together.  Today all I did was put the dew drops around the seahorses to look like bubbles.

My friend, Sharan Fagan, let me use some designer paper that looked like sand.

Since the lady wanted her grand children on the card too, I used Rosegarden Tilda to represent their little girl and Edwin wants a hug.  I didn't want the full size stamp and I didn't want to use a mini either.  So I stamped the full size stamp and scanned it into my computer.  Then using my Silhouette machine I reduced the size.  I also used a Silhouette Banner.  I hand wrote the sentiment.

The seahorses are from a printable image I found on Pintrest.  Everything was stamped onto Cryogen white paper and colored with Copics.  The sun with the seagull flying across is an embellishment from Bo Bunny.

I'm really pleased with this card.  I didn't know I could be so creative :)

Take care all and God bless!

Windows, shutters, and flower box

Happy  Saturday all!

As you can tell I have completely gone overboard on purchasing Memory Box and Poppy dies.  The window, shutters and flower box are all from Poppy dies.  The flowers are from Memory Box.  What a cool story behind the two companies.  Poppy dies was a school project for the kids of the parents who own Memory Box.  The kids did it as part of learning marketing.  So now both businesses are thriving!

My designer papers are from Echo Park.  The white card stock used on the card base, window and shutters is from Coordinations.  The brown is from Bazzill.

Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!  I'll be indoors as it's going to get in the lower 90's here in the Kansas City area.  Most likely I'll be making cards as I have three card orders to complete.  At least one of them isn't due until June 15th, so that will give me time to play with my dies!

Take care and God bless!

Memory Box Window card

Happy Friday all!

We finally got some rain here in the KC area.  It's been so dry at my end of town.  It crazy, up at airport not much at all, but down my Olathe, they've had over five inches of rain this month.  CRAZY!

This week is the unofficial start of summer.  Are you ready?  Me I'm not doing much but chilling and making cards.

As a lot of you know I have fallen in love with Memory Box die cuts.  I've seen so many beautiful cards on Pintrest and that just "enabled" me to have to have the grand window die.  I've also used the Spring border die cut and the three flower die cut on this card.  I've also used a punch from Martha Stewart for the leaves.  I used papers from Bazzill, Bo Bunny (inside of window) and Basic Grey.

I'm sure lots more window cards will be posted in the future.

Take care all and God bless!

Another Memory Box card

Happy Thursday all!

Last week at our Wednesday stamping get together my friend, Julie Case, showed us some cards she had made using Memory Box dies.  I just loved her version of this card.  The dragonfly has gone onto my wish list of "must haves".

Lucky for us we share our dies, stamps and papers.  I borrowed her dragonfly stamp and cut out several.  Once I had those cut out, I began to copy her card design.   I used a different designer paper, but it's from the same Memory Box 6 x 6 pad.  That pad of papers has lots of pretty designs with purple and turquoises.  My dragonfly was cut from some Co-ordinations paper and cover with Stardust Stickles.  The sentiment is from Penny Black.

I made five cards yesterday from our get together, plus I also have several to show you from a Copic 102 class that I took.  So I should be good to post updates for several days.

Take care and God bless!

Window Box cards

Here are a couple o card made with the Poppy Dies window box die cut.  I've used stamps from  a Stampin' Up set (sorry don't remember the set name and it's downstairs and I'm too lazy to go down and check).  I colored directly on to the stamp and in a couple of instances did not re-ink so I could get a shaded effect.

These cards are similar to some I've seen on Pintrest.

I'm really surprised that I finished making these cards on Friday morning and by noon both were sold to a lady who bought lots of my cards.  I'm going to make more as I think this design can be used with almost any sentiment and I have a request for some sympathy cards.

Well best get dressed and get ready for a Copic 102 class.  Take care all and God bless!

Here's another card I made this past week using the Poppy die from Memory Box.  My friend Julie Case had designed a similar card so I just had to copy it.  I love the ribbon technique, but I think I need more practice getting it down right the first time.  Now it's having a problem of staying as I put it.  Guess I'll have to use some glue dots to get it to stick right.  Of course I could pull it off, start over by laying down some more double sided tape.

Yesterday at church one of the members told us the story behind the sale of the poppy by veterans.  Now I'm going to have to look it up and copy it as I think it would be a nice touch to put into a card with this die on it...but make the poppies orange with green stems.

I love the silver paper I've used on this card.  I had a 12 x 12 sheet and it's from Hot off the Press.  I know that as it had a sticker on the back and I didn't notice it when I tried cutting more intricate dies.  I just wish I could remember where I bought the paper as I want some more of it.  Well at least I know I only buy card stock at a few places here in town.

The sentiment stamp is from Penny Black.

Have a great day and God bless!

Happy Birthday with Memory Box Dies

I'm spending way too much time on Pintrest...but I love it as I find so many beautiful ideas and this one is pretty much a copy of one of the cards I saw.

It uses a Sizzix folder (the criss cross), Memory Box Twig die and Memory box three flowers dies (the middle size flower and the smallest flower).  I used Bazzill Bling card stock for the white card base and the panel that was dry embossed with the Sizzix folder.  I've used pink Bazzill paper as mats.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment was one that was on freebie set from a British paper crafting magazine.  The pearls are from my stash.

I've been on a die buying spree and am getting quite a few cards made.  I'll post more pictures during the upcoming week.

Take care and God bless!

Last graduation card for 2012

Can you hear me sign?  I have made 20+ graduation cards and at least 15+ teacher appreciation cards in the last two weeks.  This is the only one I have made a card that I'm giving away.

This one is for a special young lady who graduated Thursday evening from Shawnee Mission Northwest.  Her graduation party is later today.  I actually finished it a couple of hours ahead of time (spent too much time on Pintrest this morning).

This card features two Memory Box die cuts...the grape vine wreath and the smallest flower from the flower trio set.  The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch.  The other shapes are from Spellbinders Labels One set.  The You Did It sentiment is from a Hero Arts sentiment set.  All the jewels are from my stash.

Now the only order I have is for a 10th anniversary card and I want to make some "Congratulations on your new home" cards for my sister-in-law.  Now I can play with new Magnolia and Lili of the Valley stamps and all of my many new Memory Box and Poppy Die cuts.

Have a great weekend all and I'll be back over the next few days as I have least four more cards to share that I have made with Memory Box and or Poppy Die cuts.  God bless!

Happy Mother's Day

I don't know about you all, but I think time is going by very fast.  I can't believe that we're almost half through May already.  Shoot I just got used to writing May or 5 on my checks.

Today's card features Tilda holding a heart image from Magnolia stamps.  The image has been stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink and colored with Copics.  I'll list the Copics I used at the end of this post.

I was inspired by another card on Pintrest to make this cute design.  I know my papers are different as they are from BoBunny.

The sentiment it the upper left hand corner is from Lili of the Valley from their For You sentiments stamp set.  The Happy Mother's Day was printed on my computer using a font that is in Microsoft Word.  Ribbons are from May Arts.  I've used oval die cuts from Spellbinders to cut out the image and the scalloped oval behind the image.

This card is going to a friend to give to her mother on Sunday.  I'll get to see her mom's reaction to the card as I have been invited to their house for Mother's Day.

Copics used:

Skin:  E11, E00, E000, E0000, R20
Hair:  E25, E35, E33, E31
Heart:  R85, R83
Lace on dress:  RV00
Socks:  RV0000
Shoes:  C9, C7, C5, C3
Shadow around image:  C1

Take care all and God bless!

Butterflies and music

Where do my days go?  I can't believe it's Tuesday already.

Here's another card that I made for teacher's appreciation.  I was inspired by a similar card on Pintrest for this one.  I knew the lady that I was making this for had some music teachers so I wanted to make a music theme card.

I've used this paper several times.   One side is the floral grey paper and on the other side is musical notes.

I have used a circle butterfly die cut from Spellbinders and the larger butterfly in the circle is also from Spellbinders.  The smaller butterflies on the side are a punch from Martha Stewart.

The sentiment is from Sweet & Sassy.

Now to get back to the craft room and work on Graduation card orders that need to be delivered on Friday.  Then I've got some others that get delivered on Sunday.  Oh I forgot, I also have one Mother's Day card to make and deliver too.  Looks like Gail is going to be a busy girl the next few days.

Take care and God bless!

Butterflies for teacher appreciation

Wow what a lot a rain we had yesterday.  It rain during our church service and wouldn't you know it that while were singing our last hymn, the power went out right before the last verse.  It seemed like it took a few minutes for the power to come back on.  Once it did, we sang the last verse.

Yesterday's morning rain was a surprise to the weathermen in the area; however, they got yesterday evening's prediction of storms right.

I am loving the cooler weather that the storms brought.  I had enough of upper 80's and humidity...it's just too soon for July weather.

Today's card is another one that I completed on Saturday.  I love this design.  It's so flexible for any occasion.  I saw my "inspiration" card on Pintrest.  I'm so glad I discovered a great board on Pintrest for Memory Box dies.  Look up Jarmila Vik.  That lady has some beautiful cards.

For this card, I used the butterfly chain.  What's wonderful is I now have a bunch of butterflies I can use on a different card :)

I found the striped paper at Remember This in Gardner, KS.  What a lovely store!  The gemstones are from Recollections.

Have a good Monday all!  Now it's back downstairs to do some serious reorganizing so I can make room for a Vagabound.  Take care and God bless!

What a beautiful Sunday...even if we're having thunderstorms.

Here's another card I did for Anna Lu at church for a teacher appreciation card.  The image and sentiment are stamps from Sparkle Creations and the set is called Bookworm Ruby.

The image was stamped on to Cryogen white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored with Copics.  The designer paper is from a 6 x 6 pad called Weekend Market Collection from Bo Bunny.  Flower and rhinestones are from Hero Hues.  I've used a border die and Label 1 dies from Spellbinders.

Have a great day all and God bless!

More teacher appreciation

Last Sunday I delivered a bunch of teacher appreciation cards to a lady at church.  I thought that after I finished about five graduation cards for her, I would have had her order completed.  However, she surprised me later that day requesting eight more teacher appreciation cards and another eight graduation cards.  My graduation Tilda is going to be getting used a lot this next week!

A few weeks ago I discovered die cuts from Memory Box.  Then after that I started looking at cards using Memory Box dies on Pintrest.  Oh my, what beautiful cards I found!  The above card was inspired by one of those cards.  The card on Pintrest was in purples.  However since the majority of my teacher appreciation cards are going to teachers at a local high school whose colors are blue and silver.  So most of the cards will have blue and silver in them.

The above cards features three dies from Memory Box.  The flower, the grape vine wreath, and the silver piece behind the wreath are all from Memory Box.  The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch.  I've used shimmer paper through out the design except for the flowers.  The flowers were cut out of Cryogen White paper and colored with Copics (B29, B28, B26, B24).  I then used rhinestones from Crystal Elements.  I colored the rhinestones on the butterflies with B29 before adding them.  I've used the swiss dot Cuttlebug on the second layer.  The sentiment is from Sweet & Sassy stamps.

What I really love about this design is I'll be able to change colors on the flowers and sentiments for whatever the occasion.  Love versatile designs.

I'll be sharing more of my teacher appreciation cards over the next several days.  Take care all and God bless!
