Thinking of You

Hi all!  Well I've met my new resolution of averaging three cards for each week.  January had five weeks so my goal was 15 cards this month.  I met that goal and exceeded it.

I started my morning with a goal of making the above card with my Blooming Violet die cut from Memory Box.  I opened the envelop and wouldn't you know that the die was missing.  I know I had it out the other day, but where in the world did I put it?

Well, I must admit I am a Messy paper crafter!  I looked in the usual places, but it came down to having to clean up my computer/crafting desk.  Did I say I messy?  After filling a 13 gallon trash bag with trash from trash on the floor and on my desk (yes, I'm that bad), I found the missing die cut.  Did I finish cleaning?  No way, I had a card to make.  One of these days (probably when I lose/misplace something again), I'll do some more clean-up.  However, at least Gizmo and Mojo have places to lay at my feet without having to lay on discarded papers.

Paper for the above card is from Recollections (purple) and Georgia Pacific (white).  I've also used a Martha Stewart punch for the border.  The Thinking of You die cut is from Simon Says Stamp.  Memory Box also produces die cuts for SSS.

I would make another card exactly the same, in fact I have the pieces cut, but I'm out of the little rhinestones that are from Hero Hues.  Dang, that means a run to Archiver's to purchase more.  Gee, I hate when that happens :)

Take care all and God bless!

Love ya!

It's Wednesday and I woke up to snow.  Not much, maybe an inch.  But it sure is pretty.  It's very windy too.  The wind chill is about 10 degrees.  I do have to go out soon, so I'll definitely have to dress warm.

Here's another card for the Valentine card order I've received.  Eight of the cards will use Magnolia images.
This one is called Tilda with a wrapped heart.  I've used a couple of Cheery Lynn dies.  I'm so addicted to buying dies.  They add so much to cards.  I also stamped a small heart with "Love Ya" inside the purple heart.  It's an image from a Hero Arts set.  I can remember the company who produced the white pearl clusters.

Tilda was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored with Copics.  Gee, no glitter anywhere on this card.  What's wrong with me?  However, I noticed the other day in the kitchen there's sparkly on my floor that didn't used to be there.  I think it adds a nice touch :)

Have a great day everyone and God bless!

Teddy Balloon

Happy Tuesday!

It's a wonderful day as we are getting more rain.  It's supposed to turn to snow tonight and we will be under a Winter Advisory until noon tomorrow.  It's okay with me, I don't have any plans.  Besides that type of weather helps me to stay in and make cards.

Here's one that I finished yesterday.  It's another card for the Valentine card order I have been working to complete.  This makes six complete cards...six more to go.

The image is called Teddy Balloon and it from Lili of the Valley (LOTV).  It was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the image with my Copics.  To add a little texture to the bear, I put some blender solution on a sock and touched it to the bear hoping to get a fur look.

I add small clear rhinestones to the center of the flowers and added glitter to the balloon.

Enjoy your day and God bless!

Shine On

Hi everyone and happy Monday!

It's going to feel a lot like spring today here in Kansas City.  The weather folks are predicting a high of 69 degrees and according to the outdoor temp here on my computer, it's already 65.  I've already had my three silly dogs (Diago, Mojo, and Gizmo) outside playing in this beautiful weather.  We definitely be out again later in the day.

Today's card was inspired by a card in one of the card making magazines I purchased this weekend.  I would never have thought about pairing green and black together, but I do like the combination.

I've used two new dies by Poppy stamps called Cecilia flower and Cecilia flower outline.  I used only the top half of the outline on top of the flower.

The sentiment was heat embossed onto the black card stock using white detail embossing powder.  I've also used pearls and one rhinestone from Hero Arts.

Take care all and God bless!

Double stamping

Happy Sunday all!

Today we had a little rain here in Kansas City.  I wish it was more as we really need it.  I know the farmers in western Kansas are really concerned about their winter wheat crop.  I pray that this year won't be as dry as last year!

Today I'm sharing two cards that I made yesterday at a get together with my Stampin' Up demonstrator and one of my good friends, Leanne Gorsuch.  I credit/blame Leanne for my hobby of paper crafting.  She got me started with this hobby back in July of 2007.   All it took was her to explain to me how to get different colors onto a stamp and I was hooked!

Earlier in the week, I had shared a card with Leanne that I had found on Pinterest.  I told her I was interested in buying the set.  I had planned to ask her how the card was created as I wasn't sure of the technique that the card designer had used.  I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when Leanne decided to teach the technique (double stamping) to us.

It's really very simple.  First you have to cut the small square of white card stock.  Then you place it on to the main piece of card stock that will contain the entire image.  Then you stamp onto both pieces of card stock.  You then color the image.  This time we sponged the inks onto the image.  You then remove the small square from the main image.  You then cut a square of colored card stock larger than the small square of white.  Adhere the small white square onto the colored square.  Then adhere the both of them to the main image.  Remember which part of the small image is up.

I really had fun with this techique and yep, I did buy the stamp set that was used on the card that I saw on Pinterest.  I can see me using the new to me technique in the future.

Take care everyone and God bless!

Fresh Daisies

I've been seeing this cute die cut on some card on Pinterest and I tracked it down.  Simon Says Stamp has the die cut and it's called Fresh Daisies.  It was received in the mail this week.  Lots of grins when I opened the envelop.  The die cut is made for Simon Says Stamp by Memory Box.   No wonder I think it's a cute die cut!

Anyway, I'm working on an order of cards for my cousin, Gai, and this will be of the cards for her.

Have a great weekend everyone and God bless!

Early Easter card

Hi everyone!

The other day I took a break from making Valenine's day cards.  That's because I wanted to try some of the new Memory Box die cuts.  So what better than to combine Memory Box die cuts and Magnolia stamps :)

This 5 3/4 inch square card features four Memory Box die cuts and three of them are new.  The tree, park bench, and the small birds in the tree are all new.  The clouds have been out for awhile.

I used Little Bunny Tilda from Magnolia stamps and cut her out.  She looks so cute sitting on the bench and looking at the other Magnolia stamp rabbit.  I used some liquid applique on the bunny's tail.  Both Tilda and bunny were colored with Copics.  The background designer paper is from Bo Bunny.

Now to get back to working on my Valentine order and other card orders.

Take care all and God bless!

Spooning under the moon

Happy Thursday everyone!

Today's cute card contains an image from Crafter's Companion.  I just love the dog and the cat together.  It reminds me of how Gizmo and one of the cats from the basement are best of buddies.  The cat actually looks for Gizmo.  That cat usually has nothing to do with me, but when Gizmo is on my lap, the cat comes up too.

The moon has been airbrushed.  In the class last Saturday at The Scrapbook Page, I thought I was short an image.  However, Barb Foster, the class instructor used my image to show the Copic 101 class how easy it is to airbrush.  Makes me want to find my system and do some airbrushing myself.

Take care everyone and God bless!

Cat & Mouse Valentine.

Hi everyone!

Here's another card from the Copic 101 class last Saturday at The Scrapbook Page.  It's a cute image from Penny Black.  It probably be one of the Valentine's I send to my best friend who is definitely a cat person.

I've decided I want to post more cards in 2013.  I guess you can call it a late New Year's resolution.  I checked back and I averaged over 2 posts a week last year.  So this year is to post at least three times a week.  I'm already behind for this year, but with another card to share from the Copic 101 class and with the other cards I'm making for orders, I should be able to catch up by the end of the month.

Take care everyone and I'll be back tomorrow :)

God bless!

Love is in the air

Hi everyone!

I just got back home from a Copic 101 class.  I thought I would share one of the four cards we did today.  This guys is such a hoot!   Even though I am Copic certified, I still love to take classes, make cards and to socialize with my friends who also take the classes.

I just love this cheeky guy's Valentine shorts.  The images is from Art Impressions.  I did end up buying this stamp.  It just has so much humor in it.

Barb Foster at The Scrapbook Page is responsible for the design of the card.  I did come home and added some glitter to his wings.  Both the stamped image and the sentiment have been pop dotted.

I'll share the other three cards from the class with you over the next few days.
Take care and God bless.

Valentino

It's Friday!

Here's another card using the Valentino stamp from Magnolia stamps.  I saw a similar card on Pinterest and I knew it would be really cute for one of my card orders.

I used Nestabilities to cut out the circles.  I just love the heart circle die.  My paper is from Authentique.  My ribbon is from American Crafts.

I'm looking forward to this weekend.  I'm attending a class to create some really cute Valentine cards.  I see at least one new stamp in my future from taking that class.  Sunday is our monthly recipe card get together.  Then Monday will be Gizmo's 2nd puppy training session.  I better start working with him and make myself use the clicker.

Anyway have a great day and weekend.

God bless!

Be Mine?

Happy Thursday afternoon!

Here's a card for a lady who order twelve valentines from me.  I've used Tilda with a Cozy Heart from Magnolia stamps.  Tilda was stamps with Memento Ink and colored with Copics.

The card design is one from a kit I bought last year(?) from Stamper's Ink.  I decided to cut out Tilda and glue her to the heart.

I've got four of twelve cards complete.  One other image colored and all the other images are stamped.  Now to figure out what papers to use for cards so I can coordinate colors.

Take care everyone and God bless!

Copica

Good afternoon all!

Here's a card I made a couple weeks ago for one of my stamping friend's birthday.  Julie has been a Copic instructor at one of the local scrapbook stores and this was so appropriate for her.  I've been waiting for her to let me know she has received her card before posting.   But wouldn't you know it, Gail messed up and put xxx86 as her street address instead of xxx76.  Julie was going to see if that was a valid address and then see if the neighbor had her card.  If not, hopefully it will be returned to me.

This is a digi image from Saturated Canary and if the image and coloring look familiar it's because it's on the cover of Coloring with Copics volume 3.  I love those books.  Especially book 3 as it has great guides for coloring skin and hair.  The image name is appropriate:  Copica.

Well here's hoping Julie get's her card soon or it comes back to me.

Take care everyone and God bless!

Bee Mine?

Good afternoon my friends!

The above card has been in my head since the Memory Box die cut release earlier this month.  I really wanted the Jolly Bumblebees and beehive.  I knew I wanted to use them with the Dragonfly Tilda stamp from Magnolia stamps.

I've got to admit it took me awhile to put the bumble bees together.  The die cuts 14 pieces of paper and for the pieces on the small bee, they are really small.  I thought I was being smart by cutting them out of white paper and then coloring with my Copics.  At least that way I would only have to cut them out once.  Unfortunately, I lost one of the small pieces and had to cut a second time.  Of course you could cut the pieces out of different colors of paper, but that seems like a waste of paper.  Hopefully, it will get easier to put the bees together as I work more with the die cut.

Dragonfly Tilda was stamped with Memento ink and then colored with my Copics.  I'll list the Copics used at the end of this post.  I used a Nestability Label die to cut out Tilda.  I then drew around the die onto yellow card stock to get the next layer.   The hearts are from an old Hero Arts set that's in my stash.

Take care and God bless!

Copics used:

Skin: E11, E00, E000, E0000, R20
Hair:  E37, E35, E31
Yellows:  Y18, Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11, Y0000.
Blacks:  T9, T7, T5, T3, T1, T0

Be my Valentine!

Good Morning everyone!

The other day  received an order for twelve Valentine cards.  Here's the first of those twelve cards.

I've used Valentino image from Magnolia stamps.  I colored him with my Copics.  I added glitter to his wing.

The sentiment stamp is from Hampton Arts.

The designer paper is from a 6 X 6 pad that I recently bought.  It's called "Devoted" and is from Carta Bella.  My Ribbon is from American Crafts.

Since I have so many more cards to make, I better get back to it.

Take care all and God bless!

Longing Tilda

Hi everyone!

For this Thinking of You card, I used a design with Longing Tilda from Magnolia stamps that I have used in the past.  Like me, it's a goldie oldie :)

The designer paper if from the new Authentic Valentine's day 6 x 6 pad.  The Thinking of You sentiment is from Pink by Design.   The ribbon is from May Arts.

The images was stamped onto Cryogen White paper and colored with Copics.

Take care all and God bless!

Vintage Bicycle

Hello everyone and Happy New Year.

As you know, I've got a new puppy and my extra time has gone to loving him.  Now after two weeks, I'm beginning to get him on a schedule which allows me some time to make cards.

Today's card uses the new Vintage Bicycle die cut from Memory Box.  The sentiment is from Pink by Design.

I love this combination of papers.  Barb Foster used them the other day for a make n' take at The Scrapbook Page.  I fill in love with the dark gray so I just had to get some for myself.

Take care everyone, I'll more cards to share this week.

God bless!
