Birthday card for Jim L.

For once I've got a card completed almost a week early for a birthday. My friend, Jim Lundy, has a birthday on July 3rd. He won't be in town, but I wanted to surprise him with this card before he heads east to spend some vacation time with his family.

This is a Mo Manning digital image called It's Hot. It's been colored with Copics. I computer generated the two sentiments. The fish on the second page is from a set from Inkadinkado.

The base card is Bazzill and all designer papers are from Echo Park Summer Days paper pad.

I can just see Jim after and Buster (Jim's beagle) hitting the wading pool after going for a walk. Video images from Toby's Keiths song Trailerhood come to mind :)

I used some Glitter Mist glaze (Icicle) on the water and on the goggles added some Crystal effects.

That's it for today. I doubt I post tomorrow as I have a card delivery to make and then my best friend and I are getting together to do some 4th of July cards. Dinner time will be at Famous Dave's. We're stretching out Liz's birthday which was the 22nd.

Hello Dear Thank You card

Good Morning Everyone!

It was a little noisy this morning with severe thunderstorms in the area. Now they're gone and it's going to be a beautiful day!

Today's card features an adorable Slapstick stamp from Penny Black called "Hello Dear". It's been stamped using Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored with Copics. The white base card (4 1/4 X 5 1/2) is from Georgia Pacific. The green card stock is from Bazzill. The designer paper is from Echo Park called Summer Days.

I added Crystal Affects to the water below the watering can. I used Liquic Pearls Silver Pearl on the screws on the watering can, Ocean Blue on the button on the one mouse's strap, and I used Cantaloupe for the center of the flowers.

The Thank You stamp is from Hero Arts and the three jewels are from Doodlebug Designs.

Once Upon A Time

I have this card in my mind for awhile now as an anniversary card, but two things had to happen before it finally was completed. One, for me to decide on a card layout (the layout is very similiar to one that Julie Case did in her Magnolia class last week}. Two, was that the Just Magnolia blog announced their challenge for this week had to include butterflies.

I stamped the Magnolia stamp image of Tilda Blowing Hearts onto Blend It - Express paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the image with Copics (list of Copics used will be at the end of this post). I computer generated the sentiment. Designer papers are from Lime Twist. All solid papers are Bazzill. I used an Eyelet circle Nestability and two circle Nestabilities. The ribbon is from May Arts. The rhinestones are from Hero Hues. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch. I did do limitied distressing with Ranger Distress ink...Tea Dye.

Stamper's Ink Make n Takes today

Hi all! I went to Stamper's Ink in Shawnee Mission, KS earlier today to do the make n takes. On the Stamper's Ink blog site, Tanya, the store admits that she copied the design from the from of the current issue of Stamp It magazine. That card was one layer and in my humble opinion, too plain for me. So I made the white layer slightly smaller added ribbon and used turquoise card stock as the 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 card base. Now I love the card! The bird feather is on a set from Inkadinkado. It is stamped in Versafine Majestic blue. A Kaiser Company rhinestone in cobalt blue is on each feather. The Thank You sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I loved the purple "you make me smile" card just as it was so I didn't make any changes. The butterflies are on a different set of clear stamps from Inkadinkado. The butterflies are stamped in Versafine Imperial Purple. Stardust stickles were added to several of the butterflies. I'm not sure if the company name that produced the "you make me smile" sentiment.

New home card

My sister-in-law, Dixie, is a real estate agent. She has asked me to make her some cards she could send to her customers after they purchase a home from her. This is one of my first designs for her review.

The sentiment stamp is from Northwoods stamps. The paper is from Pink Paislee and is from their Hometown Summer collection.

The base card is white cardstock from Georgia Pacific. The base card measures 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.

I've use Labels 4 to cut the stamped sentiment and the matting behind it. The green card stock is Bazzill. The three red pearls are from Hero Hues.

BFF birthday card for Liz

Good morning everyone!

Today's card is for my best friend, Liz, whose birthday was June 22nd. We've been friends for 30+ years. One hobby we share is paper crafting and especially making cards.

To me, this image by Mo Manning (stamp produced by Stamping Bella) is perfect for this card. It's call BFF (Best Friends Forever). The sentiment is also by Stamping Bella. The Happy Birthday stamp I used is from Hero Arts.

The BFF image was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics. The list of the Copics I used will be at the end of this post. I used Blend It - Express paper for the image.

I used the largest Label 3 Nestability to die cut the image. Since I used the largest die cut from that group, I had to draw around it on a piece of purple card stock and cut it out to mat the image.

The solid cardstock (white, turquoise, purple) are from Bazzill. The designer paper is from Lime Twist and is from a paper pack named Happy Go Lucky.

The flowers are from Michaels. I used Glimmer Mist glaze to add glitter to the flowers. I used Icicle on the purple flower and All that Jazz on the turquoise flowers. The pearls and rhinestones are from Hero Hues. I put just a touch of diamond Stickles on the heart on the purse. Since the pictures were taken, I've added Crackle Accents to the grey purse. I hoping after it dries, the purse will looked like leather.

Riley for baby girl

Every now and then something in a magazine kicks off my mojo (not Mojo my Shih Tzu) and I make a card based on that something. Today it was a baby's bib.

I loved the idea of taking the Eyelet circle Nestability and cutting it to look like a baby's bib.

My back ground paper is the plain reverse side of a Tutu dotted swiss card stock from Bo Bunny. The brown card stock has been embossed using a Cuttlebug folder that shows baby clothes (note to self, highlight the embossing next time with white ink). I then dug out my baby Riley stamp. I used five Copic colors for this image; E31, E33, E37, R20, and R00. The ribbon is from my stash. The Congratulations stamp is from Hero Arts as well as the rhinestones on each side of the Congratulations.
