Beautiful Sunflower

Hi everyone!

Here's another card that was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.

In case you didn't know it, using stencils is the rage in the card making world these days.

For this card, I sponged Distress Inks onto a piece of white card stock using Memory Box's Texture Honey Comb stencil.  I then used Poppy Stamp's Bountiful Sunflower die cut on black card stock.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I hope you have a great Friday and God bless!

Tilda with cross necklace

Hi everyone!

Today I am sharing with you a card I completed on Saturday.  I made it for one of our priests (Father Bruce) at St. Patrick's who is being reassigned to two churches in Shawnee County, KS.  Father Bruce was an assistant pastor at St. Patrick's for about six months.  He will missed by a lot of us.  He so filled with a joyful spirit for the Lord.  It wasn't unusual for him to break out in song during his homily.

One of churches that Father Bruce is being assigned to is St. Therese in Perry, KS.  When my husband, Frank, was alive, we spent a lot of time up at Perry Lake fishing, so I know that Perry is about 40 minutes away.  I may some Sunday morning may have to plan to attend a mass at St. Therese so I can hear Father Bruce.

For my card, I've used Tilda with a cross necklace.  I stamped her using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copics.  The cross die cut is from Spellbinders and it is an exclusive die for Our Daily Bread stamps.  The sentiment has been computer generated.

Take care everyone and God bless!

Bundle of Joy

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Baby cards have been lacking in my card inventory.  Especially now that I'm knitting baby blankets and selling them at craft shows too.  I like to have baby cards that can go with the blanket purchase.

I had seen a card on Pinterest with a stamped duck.  In front of me was a left over Memory Box duck so I decided to used him on this card.  I think the hardest choice was determining papers to use.  Luckily, I have a paper pad for baby boys handy.

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Have a great day everyone and God bless!

Sending Smiles

Here's a card I made earlier this week.

I've used a Memory Box die to cut the vintage bicycle. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The sentiment inside the cards says: "WIshing you a day full of sunshine and smiles". I really like this card sketch so it may show up on more cards.

Take care all and God bless!

Grand Happy Birthday

Happy Friday and Memorial Day Weekend eve!

Here's a quick birthday card.  I used Poppy Stamps Grand Happy Birthday die on a piece of white card stock.  I then glued it to a colorful piece of designer paper (so happens to be balloons) and then glue that on to the card base.

On the inside of card, I used a 1 x 5 1/2 inch strip of same designer paper and glued it down the right side of card and then stamped a birthday sentiment.

Easy peasy!

Have a great day and weekend.  If you're traveling, don't drive faster than your guardian can fly!  God bless.

Laughing set - Art Impressions

Hi everyone!

Here's a card I completed on Saturday.

I just love this set from Art Impressions.  It's from their Girlfriends line and is called Laughing Set.

I thought it would be fun to color the two friends almost the same.  I could see two friends laughing that they had chose the same color scheme for dressing and they hadn't even consulted about what they were going to where.

I can remember that happening at work.  Several of us would be dressed in the same colors and of course there would be someone who hadn't and we would joke about "didn't you get the memo?"

Anyway, I hope my card brings a smile to your face today.  Make it a good one and God bless!

Stenciled Butterfly

Hi everyone!

Today's card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.  I really do get a lot of ideas from that website.

For my card, I began with sponging distress inks (Peacock Feathers and Scattered Straw) on a Memory Box stencil (Honeycomb).  Then using a Memory Box butterfly solid body die cut, I cut out the butterfly.  After that I stamped Stampin' Up's Serene Silhouette birds in Memento black onto the butterfly.  That was then glued to a white piece of card stock.  Then using the Stampin' Up sentiment from Curly Cute, I stamped the Thinking of You sentiment.  I added three blue rhinestones at the bottom.  Pretty simple card...at least for me.

I hope everyone had a great day and God bless!

Greenhouse Lily

Good morning everyone!

God has blessed KCK with a beautiful morning.  I'm looking forward to today.  I'm hoping to get lots of cards made today.

Here's a card I completed last week.  It features a stamp from the Technique Tuesday Greenhouse line of stamps.  The sentiment is from the same set.

I used Stampin' Up markers to color the image.

Take care all and God bless!

Simply Sketched

Hi everyone!  It's me again with another card.  This card is a copy of a card I saw on Pinterest and since I had all the supplies in front of me to make it I went for it.  All supplies except for the ink on the image are from Stampin' Up.

For the ink on the image, I used Bahama Blue and Pistachio Memento markers (sorry Leanne Gorsuch that's what I had in front of me).

Inside the card is thank you sentiment from Hero Arts.  Have a blessed day!

Sympathy

Hi everyone!

Would you believe I had ran out of my inventory of sympathy cards?  Well, I did.  So now to build up that inventory.

Here's one that I did with Graphic 45 papers and Stampin' Up's Stippled Blossoms set.

I used a Spellbinders die too.

Take care and God bless!

Bright as a button

Hi everyone!

Today's card that I am sharing has been 95% complete since last year.  The card without the little girl was a card that I made in a card class at Remember This Remember That in Gardner, KS.  (store is now closed and I do miss them!).

I knew I wanted to added the little Pure Innocence girl to the card that goes with the sentiment.  So I stamped her yesterday, colored her with my Copics, and cut her out.  I then popped her up onto the card.  The card is now in the For Sale box for the next time relatives need cards or there's a craft show.

Have a blessed day all!

Butterfly Thinking of You

Hi Everyone!

Today's card is a simple one.  I used a pre made 3 1/2 by 5 inch card from Stampin' Up.  I stamped the "Thinking of You" sentiment on the from of the card and on the inside stamped "you are very special to me".  Both sentiments are from Hero Arts Sending Smiles stamp set.  I smudged some black ink at the top left of the card.  So instead of putting only one butterfly (Memory Box) on the card I put two.

Have a great day everyone and God bless!

Penny Black Lily

Here's my favorite card from a Penny Black board that was displayed at Ink, Paper, Rubber in Overland Park, KS.  Jennifer, the store owner, created a class for the four cards that were on the board and this is one of my cards from a class this past Wednesday.

It's amazing how many techniques that are out there and how often I forget about them.  We colored the stamp using Memento markers.  Then we spritzed the stamp with water and then stamped.  This creates a pretty watercolor affect.

We also used Memento ink (teal zeal and new sprout) on grey card stock to create a different look.

Another technique we used is to stamp a background with Versamark.  We then sprinkled it with sticky embossing powder.  You then heat set it and that makes the embossing powder sticky.  We sprinkled some pretty green glitter on to the sticky embossing powder and heat set it again.  The glitter is from the Recollections line from Michael's stores.

I then added some yellow and Crystal Stickles to the flower.   Cool card and cool techiques.

Have a great day everyone and God bless!
