Simple Thanks card

Finally Isaac's rains have made it to Wyandotte County in Kansas.  Hope we get about an inch or more as we're over 12 inches behind in rain total for the year.

Here's a card I made yesterday.  I used the Thanks die cut from Memory Box.   The black paper is mirror paper.  The white cardstock is Georgia Pacific.  The rhinestones are from Hero Arts.

It's a very simple card and I saw a similar card in a paper crafting magazine that inspired me.

Have a great Friday everyone.

Home Sweet Home

Hi all!

Here's a card I did using all Memory Box die cuts and designer paper.  The tree was cut out of Cryogen white paper and colored with my Copic markers.  I used five different Memory Box dies on this card.  They were the tree, house, fence, butterflies, and grass.

After I took this picture I added a "thinking of you" sentiment across the upper left hand corner.

Take care and God bless.

Riley's getting back in shape

I received a request yesterday to make a couple of cards for a scrapbooking friend from our Wednesday group.  She wanted something rehab like for two male friends.  One is recovering from a stroke and another is recovering from a heart attack.

So I dug out an old Riley stamp and colored him with Copics.  Wow it's been quite awhile since had my Copics out!  It was fun coloring again.

The designer paper is from a My Mind's Eye and is from a 6 X 6 pad called On The Bright Side.

Take care and God bless!

Shall I play for you on my drum?

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Oh where oh where did the cooler weather go?  Okay, 93 won't be as hot as 103, but I like 83 or less a lot better.  It will come Gail, be patient.  Hopefully along with some desperately needed rain!

Today's card features the new drum die cut from Memory Box.  This card was designed by my friend Julie Case.  I just had to make a copy of her card.   The designer paper is from Authentic.   I've used mirror paper in red and gold for the drum.  The mirror paper is from The Paper Company.  They were here in KC back on July 20th at a stamp show at the KCI Expo center.  It was one of the booths where I did spend some $$$.

Have a great day everyone and God bless!

Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday everyone!

Here's another card I made the other night while cropping.

I used the small typewriter alphabet die cut set from Memory Box to cut the letters and used the hibiscus flower die cut also from Memory Box.

All papers and card stock (except for the white base card) are from DCWV.  The white card base is from Georgia Pacific.

Hope you all have a good day and God bless!

Sending a hug

Hello all!

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday.  It's been a beautiful morning here in Kansas City, KS.  We've finally cooled off, but oh are we in desperate need of rain.  We're in extreme drought conditions.  We had a shower earlier this week, but I'm not even sure there was enough rain to wet the pavement.  When you know all the weather guy forecasts is sprinkles, you're not going to get much.

Yesterday evening I cropped with friends at the Scrapbook Page.  The above card is one of two cards designs I made.  It was inspired by a card on Pinterest.  Only the sentiment was changed.

The stamp set is from Inky Antics.  I love it as they give you a sentiment for the front of the card and one for inside.  So inside the card I stamped "because you can never have too many!"

I used two different Memory Box die cuts on this card.  Sorry I don't remember the names of the two dies and I'm being lazy this morning so I haven't gone out to the Memory Box web site to get the names of the die cuts.

I'll share the other card with you tomorrow.

Take care all and God bless!

With Sympathy

HI all!

Unfortunately as we get older it seems we need to keep too many sympathy cards around.   Here's one that I made last week.  It uses a circle nestability and two die cuts from Memory Box (Lorelei leaf and perched bird).

I saw a similar card on Pinterest.  It was a long and narrow card so I adapted it for my favorite A2 size card.

Have a great Tuesday and God bless!

Thanks Rainbow colors

Happy Sunday everyone!

I have a baby shower later today.  I'm so excited that my niece Jamie Malec is having a little girl.  Grant will bet to be a big brother.

Earlier this week I made the above card.  I love the new alphabet dies from Memory Box.  I want to use the negative images with the letters, but haven't got brave enough yet to break the dies apart.  I'm scared I'll lose a letter die.  So instead, I'm building up a cache of extra letters from cutting the entire alphabet at the same time.

I cut 1 x 2 inch strips of the different rainbow colors.  I then used a corner rounder on the  top corners.  The sticks are from the Memory Box drum die cut.

Have a great day everyone.  God Bless!

Ghostly Halloween

This past week was great fun.  I was able to get with my card making and scrapbooking friends twice this week.  The first time we gathered this week was on Monday night.  This was so my friend Julie Case could join us.  She's working full time now so she can only join us in the evenings or weekends and this past Monday night was the only free evening at the Scrapbook Page.

I had bought this cute Halloween paper from Reminisce that contains 12 cute retro Halloween pictures.  I had already cut one out and made a card which I'll share later.  I then had selected this cutie.  I also knew I wanted to use the new Memory Box ghost die cuts on it.  So I purchased the die cut and went back to the crafting area in the store.  In comes Julie and as she shares the cards she had done as samples for the store, I saw the above layout.  I just had to duplicate it as it was so cute!

The background paper with the pumpkins is from Graphic 45.  All papers are Bazzill.  I've added Diamond Stickles to the ghosts.

I'll have more to share with you from the cards we made on Monday night and during the day on Wednesday later.

Have a great Saturday everyone and God bless!

A butterfly hello

Here's another card I did for the card shower for my friend who is fighting a stage 4 cancer.  It features three memory box die cuts.

The base card is black, then a white piece of card stock then the dies.

I was so happy to see my friend today, but there were tears too as I know he is fighting an uphill battle with his cancer.  I'm  not even sure he is in his 50's yet, but that's the way it is cancer.  It doesn't care your age, sex or race.

Prayers for all cancer patients not just Jim are said every night!

Lorelei leaf die cut cards

Good Morning everyone!  We actually had rain this morning what a wonderful blessing.   Wish we had got more but will rejoice in what we did receive.

Yesterday, I met one of my Wednesday gal's at the Scrapbook Page to make cards.  My goal was to make 10 cards so that I could sell them tomorrow at the craft show at BCBSKC.

For two of the cards I used the Lorelei leaf die cut.  As you can see I cut the leaf out of some light yellow cardstock from Bazzill.  I used the negative image on one card and used the positive image on the other card.

On the card with the negative image I tied a piece of May Arts ribbon.  On the other card I used some baker's twine and a button.

These two cards will be on sale tomorrow.

Have great day everyone!
