Practing our Anthem

I have really fell in love with stamp from Lili of the Valley. This is from their recent release and is called Playing Guitar. For my inspiration I used a card on LOTV's website, but made it in red, white, and blue.

The card base is 5 3/4 square and is made from Bazzill white cs. The next layer is red. The patrotic designer paper is from We Are Memory Keepers and is from a paper pad called Yankee Doodles. The music paper is from The Paper studio. The stars are from Dress it Up. The ribbon is red and baker's twine and a blue with white polka dots from May Arts.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.

Copics used: E11, E00, E000, E25, E33, E31, E30, E17, R24, B21, B23, B26, W8, W6, W4, W2, C5, and C3.

I hoped everyone is have a good weekend and wish you many blessings for the upcoming week.

This will be my last posting until at least May 31st as I am taking some time away. Have a safe and blessed Memorial Day weekend and keep all of our service people in your prayers.

Baby Dragon says Hello

Is this just the sweetest little guy. Awh imagination is a wonderful thing. The stamp is called Sugar & Spice Dragon and it is from Sweet Pea Stamps.

The card design is by Barb Foster at The Scrapbook Page. We did this card along with the mermaid card in my previous post at class at the store last Thursday.

I learned a new technique using Copics for this card and it's all of those dots and blending on the egg shell.

The card base is grenadine Bazzill and is 4 X 5 1/2. The pink/green scales paper is by Basic Grey and is called Brianna. The ribbon is pink twill and is by May Arts.

The dragon was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Ink and it was stamped on Neenah paper.

Should I buy the mermaid stamp?

Happy Saturday all.

I was in a class on Thursday evening at The Scrapbook Page taught by Barb Foster. This is one of Barb's card designs. I love the card, but can't think of an occassion to send it. Would "floating by to say Hi" be appropraite on the inside of the card?

I haven't decided whether to buy the mermaid or not. I'm going to poll my friends on Facebook and see what they think.

Happy weekend everyone and may God Bless!

Thinking of You - Carol Ann.

I love this layout that Julie Case did on Saturday for the make 'n take at the Scrapbook Page. I decided to use it on this Thinking of You card that I will be sending to my sister's, sister 'n law, Carol Davis. Carol Ann has had some significant health issues lately and she has been in the hospital for the last two weeks. Carol is a minister so I specifically picked out this Graphic 45 paper with the angels on it for her card. The "peachy" colored card stock is the plain side of Bo Bunny Flamingo dot paper.

The base card is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 Georgia Pacific white cs. I then layered some Bazzill green (sorry don't remember the specific color name) on top of it.

The Leaning Tilda image was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah paper and the image was colored with Copics. See the bottom of this post for color numbers.

I used a SU ticket punch, May Arts Ribbon, a MS butterfly punch, and Hero Hues white pearls.

Copics used:

Hair: E25, E31, E53, and washed with Y00

Skin: E11, E00, E0000

Dress and Ribbon: RV04, RV02

I added a little diamond stickles to the sleeve of Tilda's dress and to her hair ribbon.

I love this card so much that I think I'll do a second one as I'm making a donation of some cards to a cancer fund raising golf tournament event that will be held on Friday, June 3rd and Painted Hills Golf course here in KCK.

Blessings everyone!

Last one

Whoo Who! I've completed my cards for my retiring buddies. I love this one. It's been in my mind since the weekend when I bought a British card magazine that a card in it with a stamped bird cage. Then Monday night I took a class a Scrapbook Page and Renee did a card with the bird cage on it with the same papers from My Mind's Eye. Other than those two inspirations, this card is my own design.

I had some trouble this morning cutting the birdcage and I had to go to Splitcoast to get help in cutting it out. It's from Tim Holtz. The bird is from Inkadinkado. I stamped it in Ranger Distress ink Barn Door than used clear embossing powder over it. I then cut out the bird. The saying is my own and I printed it out using my computer. The gems are from Hero Hues.

I went to a fiber store, Florilegium, in Parkville, Mo. yesterday to get the yellow mesh ribbon and the pretty yellow ribbon top of the bird cage.

Blessings all...now it time to get ready to head to lunch and hand out my cards :)

Two down, one to go

I finished this card last night. It's inspiration was from the make 'n take at Scrapbook Page on Saturday. I changed the rectangles to blue and yellow since this is a retirement card for a guy. I know he has cats so I thought this design was appropriate for him.

The base card is white cs (Georgia Pacific) and is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2. The brown cs is Bazzill and is cut 4 1/8 by 5 3/8. The rectangles are cut 2 X 2 1/2. The blue is SU, but I don't remember the color name and the yellow is from Hero Hues. The white CS the Stampendous image is stamped on is Neenah. I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.

The Copics I used are:

C3, C1, C0, C00
V12, YG01, RV04, and Y11.
I used some pink liquid pearls on one of the flower centers and Stardust stickles on others.

One down, two to go

I have three friends at BCBSKC that are retiring at the end of May. I won't be able to attend their retirement receptions on the 26th, so I'm hoping to see them tomorrow at a lunch get together we have monthly of retirees and current employees.

I had seen almost the exact same card on Splitcoaststampers and it was by someone named Sabrina. I hope she likes my version of her card.

There's no stamping on this card. I have stamp that says "A little birdie told me...", but it wasn't were I thought it should be when I looked earlier...so I computer generated it. Inside the card I have "that you are retiring, Congratulations!".

The card base is 5 3/4 inch square of Bazzill white cs. I then used a sheet of SU Marina Mist paper. The rest of the card is made up of either Georgia Pacific white cs or SU Marina Mist cs. I've used two Cuttlebug embossing folders: Swiss Dots, and a bird one. I colored the birds using SU Marina Mist marker. For the pink, I used Copic RV04 and for the green Copic YG01.

The ribbon is from Michaels and the gemstones are I-Rock. The stitching lines were handdrawn using my SU Marina Mist marker.

OOPS

Last week I saw an example of similiar card introducing the new Release of Lili of the Valley stamps call the Boys are back. This card uses the stamp called OOPS. You know his Mama had to have told him not to play ball in the house. Now he knows he's in trouble and I can hear him say, "Mama, I didn't mean too!"

I ordered three stamps from the release last Tuesday evening and I was surprised that they arrived today. I just had to ink up and color this little guy!

The base care is kraft paper and is 5 3/4 square. The DP is from a paper pack called Boys and their toys. I used stickers for the colorful OOPS down the side.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored with Copics.

Hair: E25, E33, E31, E53
Skin: E01, E00, E0000
Shorts: B23, B21
Shirt: YR15 and Y15
Vase and water: B00, B000, B0000 with Glossy Accents.

Blessing everyone!

Beautiful Tilda

Hello Everyone! I hope you're all well on this gloomy cool weekend. However, it's a great day to make cards. The above card will be my entry into this weeks Just Magnolia challenge. We supposed to anything lacy. I believe my Basic Grey Ribbon Doilies qualifies as lacy.

The image is Beautiful Tilda and it's from Magnolia stamps. The Butterfly Wishes is a stamp from Impression Obsession.

My base card is a 5 3/4" square card in Kraft. I then used blue paper from Stamping Up. I'm sorry I don't remember the color name. I do know it has been discontinued. I used a circle and eyelet circle Nestability die cuts. I also used a herring bone embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I did use some Range Snow Cap ink on the blue card stock to highlight the embossing, but it's not showing up too well.

The Maggie image was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics. The Copics I used will be listed at the end of this post. I stamped the Butterfly Wishes in SU marina mist ink and sponged some of that same ink on the smaller circle. The pearls are from March Richards. The butterflies are Marths Stewart punches. I add Diamond Stickles to Tilda's wings and the punched butterflies.

Copics used:

Skin: E01, E00, E0000

Dress: B29, B28, B26, B24, B23, B21

Wings: B26, Y11, Y4, YR01, YR00

Shawdow: B01, Booo, B0000

Thanks for looking and I wish you many blessings!

SMNW graduation card

Can you tell I'm into making graduation cards? I've blessed that several friends like my cards so much that they have asked me to make cards for them this year.

I found the SMNW laser cut at The Scrapbook page. I used my Northwoods Class of 2011 with Silver Tinsel embossing powder on the front of the card. Because the 5 3/4 X 5 3/4 base card is orange card stock, I decided to put a piece of white cs inside. I used a corner punch at the top of the white cs, and used my conGRADulations stamp from DRS and stamped it in black ink. ThenI glued a graduation cap to the bottom right hand corner of the card that I made from a Quik Kutz die.

Grain Valley Graduation card

One of my co-workers at BCBSKC, Karen LaJaunie has a son (Andrew) graduating from Grain Valley High School this year and she asked me to make him a graduation card. Grain Valley's mascot is an eagle and their colors are blue and silver. Both the eagle stamp and the "class of 2011" stamp are from Northwoods.

I've used blue and silver mirror paper for this 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 card. I embossed the Class of 2011 in blue embossing powder and embossed the eagle in silver tinsel embossing powder. I used a corner rounder on layers except for the base card.

Have a blessed day everyone!

May Copic 101 class from the Scrapbook Page

Aren't these the most adorable birthday cards? I really enjoy my classes at the Scrapbook Page with Julie Case. Her designs are so adorable. If you're in the local area, I think there's a couple more of classes for these same cards on Wednesday and Thursday.

The stamped images are:

C.C. Designs: Big Cupcake, Balloon Tevor, and Cupcake Birgitta

Stampendous: Bee Cupcake

Penny Black: To Cake Moment (hedgehog)

I can recreate any of these designs for more cards if desired. Please contact me at WindyGEM@earthlink.net if you would like to purchase any of these cards for $3.00 each.

Also, if you're interested in any graduation cards, please also contact me at the above e-mail. I've already got several orders, but I would love to ink most if not all of my graduation stamps.

Blessings to all!
